New Faces Join Planning Commission
Two new Commissioners join the Planning Commission; two Commissioners reappointed.
The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners has selected Hung T. Mai and Miller Q. Dowdy as two new appointments for a four year term to the Planning Commission. The City of Tampa has reappointed Vivian M. Kitchen and Edward F. Giunta, II. The new and reappointed Planning Commissioners were sworn in at the October 8 Regular Planning Commission Meeting and immediately began their term.
Hung T. Mai is a professional engineer from Lutz. He is president of the local engineering firm Mai, Couch & Associates, Inc. and has been a resident of Hillsborough County since 1983. Mai served the county as a member of the Charter Review Board in 2006.
Miller Q. Dowdy is a licensed real estate broker and a partner with Metro Area Properties. Dowdy has been a resident of Hillsborough County since 2000 and currently resides in Valrico. Dowdy serves as a member of the Hillsborough County Citizens Advisory Committee.
The City of Tampa chose to reappoint community volunteer Vivian M. Kitchen for a third four year term. Realtor/developer Edward F. Giunta, II who was previously appointed by the Hillsborough County BOCC and served a four year term, will remain on the Planning Commission as a new appointment by the City of Tampa.
Seth S. Boots, who has served on the Planning Commission since 2003, and David H. Foster, who has served on the Commission since 2006, were not reappointed.
