Planning Commissioner Jackie Wilson Reappointed to National Planning Committee
Commissioner Jackie Wilson has been appointed to a second term on the American Planning Association's Planning Officials Committee.
Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission member Jackie Wilson has been reappointed to the American Planning Association’s (APA) Planning Officials Committee. The reappointment was made by APA President Robert B. Hunter, FAICP, Executive Director of the Hillsborough City-County Planning Commission.
APA is a 44,000-member organization committed to promoting better communities through good planning. The Planning Officials Committee is an appointment-only committee of representatives nationwide that advocate for and help educate planning officials. City of Plant City Planning Planning Board member Gary Sears, was recently appointed to the board as well.
“It’s an honor to once again serve on the APA Planning Officials Committee,” Wilson said. “Since my first appointment in 2005 I have been able to share the outstanding work of our Planning Commission with boards and commissions from all over the US.”
Since her first appointment in 2005, Wilson facilitated ethics panels at each APA National Conference as well as the 2007 APA Florida Conference.
Jackie Wilson served on the City of Plant City Planning Board for 20 years, from 1985 to 2002. She was appointed to the Planning Commission by the City of Plant City in 1997 and served as chair for three years.
Now a licensed real estate broker, Wilson was an active member of the National Association of Realtors and a Certified Executive Officer of the Plant City Board of Realtors.
Wilson is an agriculturalist in Thonotosassa where she and her husband own and operate a 40-acre farm.
