Temple Terrace Redevelopment
After 10 years of intensive planning, on July 2, the City of Temple Terrace Mayor and City Council joined the Vlass Development Group of Atlanta in breaking ground for the 20± acre first phase of its new downtown redevelopment on the southeast corner of 56th Street and Bullard Parkway.
The first part of the first phase is expected to open late in the fall of this year, and will concentrate on new facades for the existing structures around the current Sweetbay Market and the creation of the new north-south Main Street, which will be the spine along which the project is oriented. Subsequent phases will feature new urbanism style mixed use development with commercial, residential, and civic uses fronting the new Main Street. This $150,000,000 project positions Temple Terrace to catch the first wave of economic recovery as the national economy emerges from the Great Recession.
