Planning Commission Evaluation Released
An evaluation conducted by Lance deHaven Smith on behalf of Florida's Department of Community Affairs has been released.
On behalf of the State of Florida's Department of Community Affairs, the analysis and evaluation of the Hillsborough County Planning Commission has been released. The report offers the following recommendations to state and local officials:
The balance of the Planning Commission's City-County representation should be maintained.
- The Planning Commission's financial independence should be strengthened.
- The Planning Commission should be allowed to review and make recommendations on impact fees.
- A charter based process should be established for regulating voluntary annexations.
