Official Release Of The Statewide Regional Evacuation Study For The Tampa Bay Region
The Florida Division of Emergency Management, Division of Community Planning and Department of Transportation in coordination with the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council officially released the Statewide Regional Evacuation Study (SRES) for the Tampa Bay Region on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 10:00 am.
This report updates the region's Coastal High Hazard Area (CHHA), evacuation population estimates, evacuation clearance times and public shelter demand. The new Coastal High Hazard Area (CHHA) became effective with the release of the SRES. For all planning and development review purposes the new CHHA is now in effect. There will be a significant lag between the effective date of the new CHHA and when it will be updated on the Future Land Use Map. Nevertheless, the new CHHA is effective for development review and plan amendment proposals. The data files to map this new area can be obtained from the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council (TBRPC).
