City of Tampa Zoning Board Minutes Book

These minutes of the City of Tampa Zoning Board, only comprise a portion of the 1940s. It is unclear at this time if a second volume exists and if so, where it may be located. Of historical note, are mention of the 1940 Real Property Survey as well as the earliest testimony of George Simons and the process of planning for the City of Tampa.
The City of Tampa Zoning Board was a precursor to the Planning Commission (the same legislation creating the Planning Commission served to abolish the Zoning Board.) Although considered largely ineffectual at the time, the Zoning Board contracted for a number of early studies that prepared the way for early plans of the Planning Commission.
