Riverview Community Plan
The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved adoption of the SouthShore Areawide Systems Plan at a Public Hearing on June 11, 2003. The Areawide Systems Plan calls for the development of six community plans within the SouthShore area. The Riverview Community Plan was identified as one of those plans. The Plan is intended to implement the proposed Areawide Plan's systems concepts locally as well as a detailed and specific vision and strategies for the Riverview area. Through the continued active participation of citizens with the support of county staff, the Riverview Community Plan was developed to reflect the community’s values, provide guidelines for local development and address quality of life issues pertinent to the future of the greater Riverview area.
Project Information
The Riverview Community Plan was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners into the Comprehensive Plan in 2005 (Effective 8/8/05). Work on the plan began at public meetings in May 2003.
Currently, staff of The Planning Commission and Hillsborough County Planning & Growth Management Department are working with the Riverview community to acheive the seven Visions found in the Riverview Community Plan.
The Riverview Community Plan was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners in May 2005. To implement the Community Plan vision for future development of Riverview, the Hillsborough County Planning and Growth Management Department held an Open House to discuss the Riverview Community Plan and Development in Downtown Riverview.
On February 7, 2007 an Open House was held to solicit community members to volunteer for the Working Committee and work to develop the Riverview Downtown District.
