Greater Sun City Center Area Community Plan
Sun City Center area leaders, with assistance from Planning & Growth Management Department, worked together with stakeholders in assessing current characteristics, future aspirations and methods of bringing about desired change for the study area. The Sun City Center area is located in the southern portion of unincorporated Hillsborough County with easy access to Interstate 75, and US 301 Highways and SR 674 (Pebble Beach Boulevard) traverses the communities east to west.
This community plan is unique in that local leadership took the lead and began its work on their Community Plan in September 2006. Several participants volunteered to form a Joint Planning Area Group to identify issues affecting the community and to develop a vision, goals and strategies. The Group dissolved in December 2007, but community leaders continued their work and completed the planning process with assistance from the Planning and Growth Management staff. The Plan reflects the community’s values, provide guidelines for local development and address quality of life issues in the Sun City Center area.
