by echolse last modified 2007-08-07 09:22

In a major effort to give citizens the opportunity to comment on proposed changes to the Comprehensive Plan, the Planning Commission staff will hold a series of four “Open House Dates” in June and July. PLAN TO ATTEND!

The Planning Commission has been asked by the BOCC to aggressively seek comments on proposed changes to the county’s Comprehensive Plan. In a major effort give citizens an opportunity to comment on proposed changes to the Comprehensive Plan, Planning Commission staff will hold a series of four “Open House Dates” in June and July. Citizen comments will be provided to the BOCC for review prior to a series of public hearings to adopt formal changes to the comprehensive plan.

Open House meetings have been scheduled from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. throughout unincorporated Hillsborough County to gather citizen input. Residents of Hillsborough County are invited to attend the meeting most convenient to them.

"Participation in open houses will ensure that proposed changes to the comprehensive plan are exactly what citizens articulated during the Plan 2025 workshops held in 2003," remarked Planning Commission Executive Director Robert B. Hunter, FAICP. "It’s tremendously important that citizens express to their County Commissioners what they desire for the future of Hillsborough County.”
